3 AMU students drowned while swimming at Machua Nahar of Harduaganj

India, Aligarh: Yesterday, Three Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) students drowned while swimming at Machua Nahar of Harduaganj. The students have been identified as Izhar (B.Sc) from Farukkhabad, Yasir (B.Sc) from Mau and Naman Chauhan (B.Sc) from Etah Chungi, Aligarh.

They were declared brought dead by the doctors at Jawaharlal Nehru (JN) Medical Hospital. After their practical exam on Thursday, the trio along with another student Bilal went to Machua Nahar to take a dip. While swimming, Izhar started to drown, in order to save him the other two plunged in. But they too drowned in the process. Meanwhile, Bilal contacted police and nearby villagers to help him fish out the bodies of three boys. With the help of expert swimmers the police were able to bring out the bodies of the three youths after two hours.
