US Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders lambasted billionaire Donald Trump on Thursday for his vulgar remark on Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton going to the bathroom. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump had asked the crowd at Grand Rapids, Michigan four times on Monday about Clinton’s brief disappearance, after she came seconds late to the debate stage following a commercial break.
In a video, Sanders openly took on Trump and questioned his ‘unusual relationship’ with women. “Trump is upset… it’s very hard for him to deal with. Don’t know what his relationship with women has been in his life. But he has discovered that women go to the bathroom. And it’s been very upsetting for him,” said Sanders.
At a rally in Michigan, Trump had said, “I thought she gave up,” Trump said. “Where did she go? Where did Hillary go? They had to start the debate without her. Phase II. I know where she went. It’s disgusting. I don’t want to talk about it.”
Clinton, answering a question about bullying at an event in Iowa, did not name Trump but said she was used to people saying “terrible things” about her.
“It’s important to stand up to bullies wherever they are, and why we shouldn’t let anybody bully his way into the presidency because that is not who we are as Americans,” Clinton said, according to video that aired on MSNBC on Tuesday.
